Caracas, September 17 (RHC)-- The Venezuelan government and the World Food Program (WFP) signed a new cooperation agreement, according to President Nicolás Maduro.   The Venezuelan leader announced on his Twitter social network account that he held a meeting with the executive director of the specialized agency of the United Nations, the American David Beasley.

"We signed the cooperation commitment with this prestigious international body, with which we have achieved important gains and we are going for more," said President Nicolás Maduro.

David Beasley, a former governor of the state of South Carolina and member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1979 to 1995, was appointed executive director of the WFP in 2017.

Last April, President Maduro announced the signing of a first cooperation agreement with the WFP, with which the Bolivarian Government strengthened the 18 Food Systems it develops in favor of the people.
