Tegucigalpa, November 16 (RHC)-- The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Honduras tested this Tuesday the Preliminary Electoral Results Transmission System (Trsp) in the framework of the upcoming elections in that country, by scanning 4470 minutes of the three electoral levels from more than 280 municipalities.

"This day we carried out the simulation (dry run) of the Transmission System of preliminary results and biometric identification," reported the president of the CNE, Kelvin Aguirre, from the region of Ojojona where the operation and connectivity of the systems was verified.

The election official emphasized that these exercises take place in order to familiarize the system handlers with the equipment and reduce the level of incidents that may occur with it in order to "guarantee our objective of carrying out a reliable and transparent electoral process."

The CNE affirmed that the system is supported by a call center that verifies the Voting Reception Boards (JRV) and the transmission centers during the general elections of next November 28th.

The President of the CNE also highlighted that these types of tests have been carried out since October 20 and have had satisfactory results.  Local sources informed that the transmission will have the presence of local observers and will cover more than 20 percent of the polling stations distributed in 95 percent of the municipalities.
