Caracas, February 4 (RHC)-- Thousands of Venezuelans took to the streets of Caracas this Friday to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the February 4 (4F) rebellion of 1992, led by Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, which opened a stage of profound changes in the history of that nation.

From 10:00 a.m. local time, the people started two marches in the capital district, one of which left from Plaza Venezuela, in the Rental Zone, and the second from the National Institute of Training and Socialist Education (Inces) of Nueva Granada.

Then both contingents united at Paseo Los Próceres, until reaching the monument of the Indio, as confirmed by the Vice President of Mobilization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Pedro Infante.

The contingents parading through Caracas were joined by groups of students, youth, workers and social collectives representing other states of the country, where popular marches and rallies are also held to pay tribute to the date.

Through the social network Twitter, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro honored the rebellious spirit of 4F, which he defined as "a date that meant the great rebirth of Bolivarian thought in the history of Venezuela."

The head of state also urged to fulfill "the oath we swore to Comandante Chávez, the man who resurrected the Homeland, 30 years ago."
