The Puebla Group denounced Wednesday the exclusion of Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela from the IX Summit of the Americas, held until Friday, June 10th, in the U.S. city of Los Angeles.

Buenos Aires, June 9 (RHC)-- The Puebla Group denounced Wednesday the exclusion of Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela from the IX Summit of the Americas, held until Friday, June 10th, in the U.S. city of Los Angeles.

Through a communiqué, the Puebla Group pointed out that it rejects the actions against those countries promoted by Washington, which "contradict the principle of non-intervention in the internal affairs of States."

On the other hand, it highlighted the participation of Argentinean President Alberto Fernández, representing the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, and assured that "it understands the legitimate decision of other nations to absent themselves from the event out of solidarity with those excluded."

Among the leaders who will not attend the meeting are Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Bolivian Luis Arce and Honduran President Xiomara Castro.

The Group urged Joe Biden's administration to normalize relations with Cuba, support Venezuela's democratic dialogue and facilitate migration, the continuity of the peace process in Colombia and the fight against drug trafficking.
