Bolivia suspends food exports until food security is restored
La Paz, October 27 (RHC)-- In Bolivia, the Minister of Productive Development and Plural Economy, Néstor Huanca, announced at a press conference that the Government has decided to suspend the export of some products until the end of the strike. The products that will not be exported during the established period are: Soybean, sugar, oil and beef.
The authority affirmed that priority will be given to the normal supply of products in the domestic market, for the good of the population. He also blamed representatives of the Interinstitutional Committee promoting the Census, and Santa Cruz civic groups, for the consequences that may arise in the economy.
The measure is undertaken in the midst of the indefinite strike that is taking place in the department of Santa Cruz, where the central government and the opposition continue without reaching an agreement on the date of the national census.
