Mothers of Plaza de Mayo
Buenos Aires, Apr 8 (RHC) The Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association on Saturday confirmed its participation in mobilization around Palacio de Tribunales in this capital on Thursday to denounce the judicial persecution of Argentinean Vice President Cristina Fernandez.
On its Twitter account, the Association pointed out that its members would attend its 348th march around the Pyramid at Plaza de Mayo and then join the rally called by social, labor, and political organizations in Lavalle Square, in front of the Supreme Court’s Building.
The Mothers of Plaza de Mayo assured that the rally would defend democracy and reject the judicial mafia.
Mariano Recalde, president of the Justicialist Party in Buenos Aires, said in recent statements that other groups such as Frente Renovador (Renewal Front) and the General Confederation of Labor would be present.
Frente Grande Nacional and the Workers’ Union in Argentina, among others, have also confirmed their participation.
The demonstration is part of a series of actions that we are going to take to condemn the attempts at proscribing the vice president. We will state that the current Court does not correspond to a democratic country, Recalde said.
Fernandez is our main option for the October 22 elections. She is a leader with the necessary political experience and capacity. She also has the people’s confidence to face the challenges that lie ahead. She is the only leader, but it is up to her to decide what is best. (Source: PL)
