Successful test of Heil-2 unmanned nuclear submarine
Pyongyang, Apr 9 (RHC) The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) announced a successful test of its Heil-2 unmanned nuclear submarine, after traveling more than 1,000 kilometers underwater, the KCNA news agency reported.
The underwater drone made the journey from April 4 to 7, which lasted 71 hours and six minutes, after navigating in an elliptical route, in the East Korean Sea. Its test warhead was detonated underwater, the source added.
As a result of the experiment, the weapon’s reliability and deadly strike capacity were perfectly verified, KCNA stressed.
The system will be an advantageous and future military potential of the DPRK armed forces that is essential to deter the escalation of military actions by all kinds of enemies, eliminate the threats and defend the country, the news agency noted. (Source: PL)
