New Delhi, April 26 (RHC)-- A record-shattering heat wave has hit multiple Asian countries, including India, Bangladesh, Laos, Thailand and parts of China.
In the Indian state of Maharashtra, at least 13 people who attended an outdoor event died from heatstroke over the past several days. Scientific models predict extreme heat waves in India could get so bad, they would not be considered survivable by 2050 even by a healthy person resting in the shade.
This comes as the United Nations said recently that India is poised to overtake China as the world’s most populous country by June of this year.
