German arms manufacturer to supply military aid to Ukraine
Berlin, Jun 28 (RHC) The German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall confirmed the upcoming shipment of 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine, during Russia's special military operation in support of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics.
The German company confirmed the order issued by the Netherlands for the supply of these vehicles, worth some three million euros, which are scheduled for delivery in 2024, although the first transfer will take place next January.
On June 15, the German newspaper Handelsblatt reported, based on sources from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the signing of an agreement between Denmark and the Netherlands for the acquisition of this military technology and its subsequent donation to Ukraine.
Other countries, mainly from the European Union, support Ukraine with weapons and the adoption of sanctions against Russia, which has already sent notes of protest to these states.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any arms shipment to Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Moscow’s Armed Forces. (Source: PL)
