Bogota, July 9 (RHC)-- The Institute of Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz) of Colombia denounced this Sunday the murder of the peace signer and president of the Community Action Board of the Bajo Londres village in the municipality of Puerto Rico, Rigoberto Mendoza.
According to the entity, the victim was killed this Saturday in the Aguililla village, department of Caquetá, where he was carrying out his reincorporation process in the Former Territorial Space for Training and Reincorporation (AETCR) of Miravalle, San Vicente del Caguán-Caquetá.
Local media released images showing next to the legs of the corpse a poster alluding to the Rodrigo Cadete front, a structure attached to the Jorge Briceño Suárez bloc of the dissidents of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
Mendoza, known locally as "Guara", was a member of the association Unidos Producimos Producimos Paz, Upropaz, in Caquetá, which brings together people in the process of reincorporation and victims of the conflict to promote a textile manufacturing project.
For its part, the Ombudsman's Office issued an Early Alert for the municipalities of El Doncello and Puerto Rico, which have been at risk of violations of the rights of the civilian population due to the presence of FARC-EP dissidents. The organization also noted that in the territory there is also a reported dispute between armed groups attached to the Second Marquetalia and the Central General Staff.
With this latest murder, 21 signatories have been killed this year, while 377 have been killed since the signing of the Peace Accords in Havana, Cuba, in 2016.
