Police and prosecutors stand outside President Dina Boluarte’s house during a raid aimed at seizing Rolex watches as part of a preliminary investigation into alleged illicit enrichment 

Lima, March 30 (RHC)-- After the raid by a team of the Prosecutor's Office and police agents to the house of the president-designate of Peru, Dina Boluarte, the ministers of the presidency arrived early Saturday morning at the Government Palace to participate in an extraordinary meeting to analyze the situation of the head of state.

Peruvian media reported that the president of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adriánzen, was one of the first to show up at the government headquarters together with the Minister of Development and Social Inclusion.  Local media claim that members of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers expressed their indignation for the actions of the Prosecutor's Office against President Dina Boluarte.

So far, the whereabouts of the president are not known, but an official statement is expected in the next hours.

Upon learning about the judicial measure against the head of state, congressmen and opposition sectors have pointed out that Dina Boluarte must offer explanations and present her immediate resignation from her position.

In this sense, Congressman Carlos Anderson pointed out that President Dina Boluarte must give explanations and hand over the jewels after the raid on her house. "Otherwise, she is going to have to resign", he remarked.

Representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office and personnel from the High Complexity Crime Investigation Division (Diviac) raided the house of Peru's president-designate, Dina Boluarte, located in the west of the Peruvian capital on Friday night as part of investigations for alleged illicit enrichment.

According to the first information, the raid is for the purpose of search and seizure, due to a judicial resolution on alleged illicit enrichment and omission in consigning statement in documents for the use of Rolex watches.
