Tel Aviv, May 26 (RHC)-- Israel calls the International Court of Justice (ICJ) binding order to immediately stop its assault on Rafah “outrageous, morally repugnant and disgusting” -- and says accusations it is committing genocide in Gaza “are false.”
The UN’s emergency aid chief says Israel’s war on Gaza has been “a tragedy beyond words,” and it must “end this nightmare.” Martin Griffiths, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, warned that time has run out for Israel to stop it's genocidal rampage.
Meanwhile, Israeli tanks and troops have advanced into Rafah’s southeast and are moving towards the city’s densely populated western district.
At least 35,857 people have been killed and 80,293 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from Hamas’s attack is 1,139, with dozens still held captive.
