According to the organizers of the event, the current Zionist operation is similar to that of the Nazis against the Jews in the 20th century.
Caracas, June 14 (RHC)-- With the aim of raising awareness of the barbarity of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the carrying out of a genocide against the Palestinian people, "The International Seminar: A New Holocaust in the 21st Century > Zionism Threatens the World" was held on Thursday and Friday in the Venezuelan capital.
The seminar clearly established that Israel is an illegal entity artificially created by the UN and made known the decisive role of the resistance in the fight and confrontation with the Zionist entity.
According to the organizers of the event, the current Zionist military operation against the Palestinian territory is similar to that of the Nazis against the Jews, Communists and gypsies in the 20th century.
The presentations were held on June 13th and 14th at the headquarters of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies “Rómulo Gallegos” (Celarg) in the city of Caracas.
At the beginning of the seminar, the president of Celarg, Pedro Calzadilla, highlighted the importance of the event in the current context and the need to join forces to fight against the injustices that are being committed in the world.
Another purpose of the event was to make clear the difference between Israel, Zionism and Judaism and their different approach to the conflict.
In the middle of the inauguration of the event, Calzadilla decided to share a fragment of a Communiqué issued by the Casa de las Américas, where they recently noted: “A new ghost haunts the world: that of the rise of the extreme right and the rise of a fascism that we believed was banished to the history books.
“Endorsed at the polls, like almost a century ago, they do not hide to show their most impudent side. The most openly criminal is left for Gaza, where the world is once again witnessing a genocide that, right now, has the complicity or cowardice of a good part of the West.”
The president of Celarg pointed out that the purpose of the International Seminar was to reject what is happening in the Gaza Strip and bring it to the table as an issue that concerns us all and that should not be alien to us.
"We have a strategic purpose. This is a place that works and works for the great causes of humanity. Therefore, Palestine is here within us, and this event is not alien to that struggle,” said Pedro Calzadilla.
For his part, the coordinator of the International Seminar, Sergio Rodríguez, highlighted that the event not only made visible what is happening in the Gaza Strip, but demonstrated the policy of defense and recognition of the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinian ambassador to Venezuela, Fadi Alzaben, thanked Celarg and the Bolivarian University of Venezuela (UBV) for their support of the Palestinian cause. “This fills us with strength and strengthens us to continue the struggle. This Seminar confirms not only our concern but our action.”
Alzaben highlighted that the current Zionist military operation against the Gaza Strip already has nearly 40 thousand dead; more than 1.9 million displaced as a result of this latest action by Israel. He also denounced that more than 15 thousand children have been murdered and more than 17 thousand infants have lost at least one of their parents.
The Minister of University Education and rector of the UBV, Sandra Oblitas, denounced the genocide that is hitting Palestine today, “It is impossible not to feel pain in the face of so much pain (…) the attempt to exterminate a people and its culture,” she said.
According to Oblitas, this International Seminar is a demonstration that dialogue, reflection and analysis of the Palestinian cause have the support of the Venezuelan people.
"The International Seminar: A New Holocaust in the 21st Century > Zionism Threatens the World," featured the participation of four Venezuelan speakers and nine foreigners.
The topics discussed at the seminar were: Jewish identities and Israel; Israel: An artificially created entity; the aggression in Gaza and violations of international law; The Palestinian cause: The cause of resistance.
