Gaza City, August 5 (RHC)-- Palestinians abducted by Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip say they are being horrifically tortured at the hands of the regime’s prison guards whom they describe as “rabid beasts.”

According to testimonies collected and published by the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Palestinians being held in Israel’s Ofer Prison face various forms of systematic abuse, including the use of attack dogs, tear gas, and pepper spray in cells.

Three prisoners who spoke to the commission said they were taken from Gaza in military vehicles where they faced degrading verbal abuse and torture.  They said that the conditions and violations they faced in the facilities where they were held were "horrific."

The detainees, the report said, “were stripped of their clothes, beaten, tortured, bound and blindfolded.”  “We were turned into prey to these monsters, who enjoyed our hunger, thirst, screams and illnesses.  We still do not believe that we are still alive,” a prisoner was quoted as saying.

"Today, we are all sick,” said another detainee. “Our bodies are exhausted, and we have become prey to illness and injury.”   No medical treatment or medication is provided. Despite these dire conditions, we cling to the hope of returning to our families alive.”

The testimonies come amid growing concern over the fate of thousands of Palestinians who have been kidnapped from their homeland since the regime launched its genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip in early October.

The UN Human Rights Office published a report Wednesday, according to which 53 Palestinians have died in Israeli prisons and facilities since October 7th last year.
