Caracas, September 20 (RHC)-- The National Assembly (AN) held a session this Thursday and approved the Draft Agreement in Repudiation of the gross interference in the internal affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela by a group of fascist MEPs of the European Parliament, after the body approved the recognition of Edmundo González as president-elect of Venezuela.

The first vice president of the AN, Pedro Infante, stressed that the interference comes from a part of the European Parliament, made up of far-right deputies from Spain, Germany, France, Hungary and Italy.

He referred to the Congress of Chile, which recognized Edmundo González Urrutia as president, and a similar attempt that occurred in Colombia, promoted by the Democratic Center, the party of former president Álvaro Uribe.

He stated that we are witnessing the use of Parliaments controlled by the far right to attack Venezuela. He recalled that the European Parliament recognized Juan Guaidó as president of Venezuela in 2019.

For his part, the deputy and former presidential candidate José Brito rejected the interference of MEPs in the internal affairs of Venezuela.  He questioned that these MEPs look to the side in the case of the genocide committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian population, which they have not condemned despite the fact that the occupation has killed more than 42,000 civilians in Gaza since last October.

He denied that Edmundo González Urrutia had been coerced.  He affirmed that he traveled to Spain fleeing pressure from María Corina Machado.  He recalled that after arriving in that country González Urrutia issued a statement whose terms are literally the same as those of the letter made public the day before by the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez.  If he had been coerced, upon arriving in Spain he would have denounced these alleged pressures, Brito lashed out.

The problems of Venezuelans will be solved by us Venezuelans.  The time of the colony has long passed.  Venezuela is a sovereign country and it must be respected. There will be no Guaidó 2.0 here, he emphasized.
