Washington, September 29 (RHC)-- U.S. President Joe Biden has praised Israel's assassination of the leader of Hezbollah in Beirut.

In addition to justifying the crime, the current resident of the White House classified groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthi rebels and others that make up the resistance against Zionism as "terrorists."

Hours after the Zionist entity bombed Beirut and assassinated Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, U.S. President Joe Biden said that this crime was "a measure of justice."

In a statement released on the White House website, the president alleged that the Lebanese Islamic resistance movement, led by Nasrallah, caused “numerous victims, including thousands of American, Israeli and Lebanese civilians.”

He added that Washington “fully supports Israel’s right to defend itself,” without referring to the more than 41,000 people killed by the Zionist entity since October 7th last year to date and the devastation of almost 70 percent of the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip -- including homes, schools, mosques, universities, hospitals and other health facilities.

Biden classified Hezbollah, the Hamas movement (Palestinian resistance), the Houthi rebels and other groups that make up the axis of resistance against Zionism as terrorists.  He did not mention that Israel and its war machine serve the American power elites to destabilize the Middle East and try to control its energy resources.

He also did not mention that the U.S. is complicit in the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the current aggression against Lebanon, and that it contributes to creating a framework of impunity for the Zionist entity.

In his statement, the U.S. president added that his country's goal is to "reduce tensions" in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon through diplomatic efforts, but at the end of July, the Zionist entity assassinated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh -- a key negotiator for Hamas -- while the Palestinian movement was in a dialogue with Tel Aviv to try to achieve a ceasefire.

Genocide Joe also did not say a word about Israel's intransigence, with new demands for dialogue to break consensus, extend it and prolong the occupiers' genocide.

Repeatedly, the U.S. has vetoed in the Security Council proposals for resolutions against Israel for its crimes against humanity in Gaza.  Washington's pressure on members of the International Criminal Court to prevent arrest warrants being issued against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for their role in the massacres and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is also well-known.

Shortly before killing Nasrallah, the Israeli Defense Ministry confirmed that it had obtained a package of 8.7 billion dollars from the United States to continue fueling the occupation's genocidal war against Gaza and Lebanon.
