Washington, November 27 (RHC)--  U.S. President Joe Biden is moving forward with a $680 million arms sale to Israel, amid growing concerns about American weapons being used against civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The package includes thousands of joint direct attack monition kits (JDAM) and hundreds of small-diameter bombs, the Financial Times reported Wednesday.  The arms sale, which according to the Times has been in the works for several months, has not previously been reported.

It was first previewed to the congressional committees in September and then submitted for review in October, the Times cited people familiar with the plan.

The $680 million for JDAMs and small-diameter bombs follows a $20 billion sale in August of fighter jets and other military equipment that Senate Democrats, led by Bernie Sanders, tried and failed to block last week.

Biden has spent a record of at least $17.9 billion on military aid to Israel since October 2023, when the regime launched its devastating war on the Gaza Strip.

Israel's military forces have so far killed more than 44,000 people, including women and children, in the besieged Palestinian territory.

The U.S. president, whose term ends in January, now stands accused of complicity in this genocide since he never stopped pouring weapons into the Israeli regime's war machine.

According to U.S. law, military assistance to a country or entity should be halted if they use American-supplied arms to commit war crimes.  However, despite evidence showing that Israel has used U.S. munitions in war crimes, military support to Israel has increased since the genocidal Gaza war began last October.
