Caracas, November 29 (RHC)-- Friday morning in Caracas, within the framework of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed the firm and historic position of his nation against the Zionist extermination policy and in favor of the rights of the Palestinian people to life and to have their own independent State.

“We are deeply hurt by the crimes committed daily against the children, girls, women and men of Palestine, the sacred land of all, which today suffers a live genocide,” said President Maduro through his Telegram channel.

Maduro asserted the importance of defending Palestine and its rights to life, independence and existence, which is as important - in his opinion - as the right to existence of Venezuela, Latin America and the Caribbean.

According to the head of state, Palestine joins a crucial battle between fascism, colonialism in its new forms, Zionism, and the right to a new society, to decorum and to cultural diversity.

“The most important battle that humanity has is for the human homeland, for the liberation of Palestine, and from Venezuela we do everything possible so that solidarity is expressed in concrete terms. The Palestinian people deserve justice, and with the support of all humanity, they will win sooner rather than later,” the president said.

Likewise, the Bolivarian Foreign Minister Yvan Gil assured that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is an opportunity to reflect on the history of Palestine and continue to promote the struggle for the rights of peoples.

Since 1977, on November 29th of each year, or around this date, the United Nations commemorates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

According to the UN, the date seeks to remind the international community that “the crisis in Palestine has not been resolved.”
