Sanaa, December 7 (RHC)-- Yemenis have staged new weekly protests in the capital Sana’a and several cities across the country to reiterate their support for Palestinians subjected to Israel’s genocidal war.
On Friday, people rallied in Sana’a and other provinces, including Sa’ada, Hudaydah, Hajjah, Ibb, al-Bayda, Amran, Jawf, Dhamar and Ta’izz, in solidarity with the Palestinians, hailing the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance fighters.
Carrying the Yemeni and Palestinian flags, the demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Oh Gaza, Oh Palestine…All Yemenis are with you” and “The criminal entity will disappear… and victory will belong to the al-Qassam army,” in reference to the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.
They also hailed the recent anti-Israel operations carried out by the Iraqi and Yemeni fighters, expressing their support for retaliatory operations conducted by their armed forces.
Yemen’s armed forces on Tuesday announced the execution of three joint military operations with the Iraqi resistance targeting Israeli positions, as part of their ongoing efforts to halt the relentless violence against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The statement issued by the protest organizers slammed the Arab and international silence on the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza. Their statement urged “Our Arab and Muslim Ummah to carry out its responsibilities and its religious, moral and humanitarian duties towards what’s happening in Gaza.”
The statement also decried the “shameful” stance adopted by some Arab regimes which supply Israel with goods, while Palestinians are facing extreme hunger due to Israel’s complete siege on Gaza.
Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics revealed that exports from Egypt, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Jordan to the regime have surged compared to the previous year.
The protesters also downplayed the threats made by US President-elect Donald Trump. “We and all the fighters of our Ummah don’t fear the US threat and hell,” the statement said.
Trump on Monday threatened to unleash “hell” in West Asia if captives held by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip are not released before his inauguration on January 20, 2025.
The protesters also denounced the offensive launched by the foreign-backed militants in Syria, describing it as part of a plot aimed to retaliate against the countries of the resistance axis due to their support for the Palestinians and their just cause.
On an almost a weekly basis, Yemenis have been staging mass protests across the country to condemn the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, and to reiterate their support for their country’s retaliatory operations.
Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime's decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.
The regime’s bloody onslaught on Gaza has so far killed at least 44,600 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 105,800 others. Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under rubble.
