Damascus, Apr 7, (RHC), -- Mamun Abdolkarim, director of Archaeological and Cultural Monuments of Syria, has recently denounced that some 15,000 antiquities are in danger of being sold on the black market by terrorist groups occupying the city of Idleb.
Addolkarim raised the alarm, following the reported occupation of the city of Idleb by terrorists of the Al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State (IS), who are vandalizing the cultural heritage of the city.
Similar incidents have been happening in IS occupied part of Iraq, where the terrorists are destroying ancient buildings, monuments and art works, in a bid to erase the pre-Islamic heritage of the region.
