Sanaa, September 11 (RHC)-- Saudi Arabia has bombarded several areas across Yemen, as the United Nations says Yemeni parties have agreed to hold peace talks to end the conflict in the impoverished Arab country.

Saudi warplanes targeted several areas in and around the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, late on Thursday. Reports say that in one of the airstrikes on the capital, the Saudi fighters hit the Yemeni military camp of al-Hafa. The force of the explosion caused by the airstrike discharged rockets and other weapons from the military camp toward a nearby neighborhood.

The Saudi fighter jets also bombarded several areas in the southwestern province of Bayda. In one of the attacks, the Saudi jets targeted three fuel trucks in the district of Sawadiyah.

According to the United Nations, the conflict has so far left about 4,500 people dead and thousands of others wounded. Local Yemeni sources, however, say the fatality figure is much higher.
