Venezuelan minister of Foreign Affairs Delcy Rodríguez rejected statements by U.S. State Department spokesperson John Kirby, who linked criminal actions in the country to the electoral process going on in Venezuela.
In her tweeter account, Minister Rodriguez decried attempts by the US diplomatic spokesperson to link the assassination of Luis Diaz, a member of the opposition Democratic Action Party, with the legislative elections schedules for next week.
The minister described those accusations as interventionist, insolent and false, and rejected the support the Department of State gives Venezuela's rightwing and associated criminal gangs.
