Damascus, April 5 (RHC-PL), -- Syrian Prime Minister Wael Halqi has announced that the government will allocate 50,000 billion pounds (over $130 million USD) to assist and compensate local people displaced due to the current crisis.
Halqi spoke at the meeting of the General Council of the Syrian Union Federation being held in Damascus.
Halqi said that huge efforts are being made to resume production in cities and industrial zones, and said that the national working class has a special place in those projects.
The Syrian prime minister also said that the Government increased oil and food product imports due to the lack of security in some zones of the country and the resulting decrease in production.
Representatives of all the Syrian provinces took part in the union meeting.
