Havana, September 3 (RHC)--A Cuban Ministry of Culture report takes note of the adverse impact that the U.S. policy of economic sanctions against Cuba is having on the island's capacity to advance artistic creation and education.

The report says more than eight thousand students in schools under the national system of artistic education will be negatively impacted by the unavailability of items needed for their training, like musical instruments, oil paints, brushes, dancing clothes and shoes, among other apparel that Cuba could have purchased in the U.S. were it not for the blockade.

Likewise, says the Cuban Culture Ministry report, Cuban artists are being kept from obtaining revenues associated with working and performing in the U.S., which can only take place through cultural exchanges, without commercial contracts that could benefit the artists.
