Havana, November 29 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Bolivia's Evo Morales arrived at Havana's Revolution Square early Tuesday morning, where they joined huge crowds of Havana residents in paying their last respects to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro.

The two Latin American leaders and residents of the Cuban capital, representing the entire nation, entered the José Martí Memorial at the iconic Square, walking slowly and in silence before a large photo of Fidel taken in the Sierra Maestra mountains.

Cubans began paying their last respects to their Comandante at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the Revolution Square. The long lines lasted until well into the early morning hours on Tuesday and were echoed in over 1,000 other places across the island. Hundreds of thousands of Cubans arrived to sign the solemn oath, pledging to honor the revolutionary legacy of their historic leader.

The first stage of the homage, the pilgrimage at the Revolution Square ends at 12 noon on Tuesday, and then a huge rally is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. this evening at the Square, where Fidel often spoke to huge crowds.
