Caracas, March 6 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raul Castro emphasized the importance of unity, through the ALBA TCP organization, the accronym for the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America – Peoples' Trade Treaty– for the development of the peoples in face of the threats and aggressions of the imperial forces.
In a speech at the Fourteenth Summit of the ALBA-TCP Organization, which met in Caracas, Raul Castro said that this association for solidarity is an indispensable manner for growing and being able to face with more effectiveness the onslaught of the imperial power blocks that control the world economy.
The Cuban Chief Executive recalled the brotherhood between the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the Bolivarian chief, Commandant Hugo Chavez, both of whom sponsored the installment of a new mechanism to watch over and protect the interests of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean
“The construction of unity is one of the most important tasks facing a true revolution”, said Raul Castro, who recalled the efforts of President Chavez to develop the unity of the peoples under the standard of unity.
The Cuban Head of State also noted that the efforts made by Chavez included forging the unity between civilians and military personnel, stressing that this unity has allowed the Bolivarian Revolution to survive the hostility, attacks and the encroachment of its enemies, as well as the irritating , unjust sanctions imposed by the United States, which include the recent accusations leveled against the Venezuelan Executive Vice President Tarek Al Aissami.
Raul Castro said that the wall to be installed all along the Mexican border with United States is a gross expression of an irrational behavior, not only against that nation but against all Latin America as a whole
Raul Castro voiced his solidarity with the Government and people of Mexico, and told the nations of the ALBA Latin American and Caribbean community that poverty, disease, social catastrophes and migrations are not solved by building walls but with cooperation, understanding and peace.
