Havana, January 25 (RHC)-- Logistical and organizational details are being finalized here in Havana to guarantee the success of the upcoming 2nd Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
At the exhibition site of Havana’s Convention Center, Pabexpo, venue of the important regional meeting to be held on January 28th and 29th, Deputy Foreign Minister Ana Teresita Gonzalez, reported that the necessary conditions for the work of delegations have already been created.
The Summit’s central theme will be the struggle against poverty, hunger and inequality, and will be preceded by meetings, on January 25th and 26th of national coordinators of the 33 nations making up the regional integration mechanism, while foreign ministers will meet on Monday, January 27th.
Expected to attend the Summit are most of the heads of state of member countries, as well as a group of first ladies, who will carry out a collateral program that includes visits to centers of scientific, educational, cultural and historic interest in Havana.
