Cuban Lawmakers Examine Food Industry and Other Important Topics

Havana, July 12 (RHC)-- Cuban lawmakers are analyzing the fulfillment of the recovery program in the food industry as part of the third and final working day of the Permanent Committees of the National Assembly of People's Power.

The deputies are receiving information from the Ministry of Finance and Prices on the attention given to social indiscipline, illegalities and corruption.  They are also examining the impact of community projects on preventive work against social indiscipline that affects daily life and will discuss other issues of national interest.

Tuesday evening, the International Relations Committee of the legislative body approved a document that supports the Cuban government's statement regarding Washington's new policies on Cuba issued in Miami by U.S. President Donald Trump last month.

Among other issues, parliamentarians also assessed the productive and social situation of the mountainous areas affected by climate change, the deterioration of traditional crops, the workforce deficit and the exodus, while evaluating the strategy for a better process of justice in the country in coordination with legal institutions.

Tomorrow, Thursday, legislators will receive information from various ministries once the work of the standing committees has concluded on Wednesday, prior to the Ninth Ordinary Session of the Eighth Legislature of Parliament, convened for Friday, July 14th.
