Latin American Solidarity Brigade to Visit Cuba

Havana, July 29 (RHC-PL) --  Solidarity activists from 11 Latin American nations will visit Cuba, beginning July 31st, to learn about the country's reality and to carry out volunteer work in the agricultural sector.

According to a communique issued by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples, the 24th contingent of the Latin American and Caribbean Brigade of volunteer work and solidarity with Cuba will complete a 15-day program in the provinces of Havana, Artemisa, Villa Clara, Las Tunas and Santiago de Cuba.

The group of 70 people will be welcomed at the Julio Antonio Mella international camp, in the western province of Artemisa, where they will develop a solidarity meeting dedicated to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

The brigade will also visit work centers and community projects, tour museums and participate in conferences on Cuba, including relations with the United States, the ongoing process to update the country's economic model, citizen's participation and human rights.

This time, the brigade is made up of solidarity activities from Mexico, Panama, El Salvador, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Colombia, Martinique and Brazil.
