Tokyo, April 17 (RHC)-- Japan's deputy foreign minister for political affairs Takeo Akiba said relations with Cuba constitute a priority for the Japanese government.
During a meeting in Tokyo with Cuban ambassador Carlos Miguel Pereira, Akiba recalled his memorable meetings with President Raúl Castro and the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro during his visit to Havana in September of 2016, accompanying Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The Japanese diplomat expressed satisfaction with the state of bilateral political dialogue and pointed to joint efforts toward advancing economic, trade and cooperation relations.
The Cuban ambassador to Japan praised the increased frequency of official visits and exchanges at all levels and in several sectors.
