Washington D.C., May 15 (RHC)--The governor of the US state of Alabama, Republican Kay Ivey, received Miguel Fraga, first secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Washington, who paid a working visit to that state.
During the meeting on Tuesday, both sides discussed opportunities available for the two countries for academic, commercial, cultural and sports exchange.
The Cuban diplomat also met with the State´s Commissioner for Agriculture and Industries, Rick Pate, to talk about the mutual commercial interest and the sales of agricultural products to the Island.
In addition, they referred to the memorandum of understanding that exists between Alabama´s port of Mobile, and the Cuban port of Mariel, in the province of Artemisa.
