Havana, July 4 (RHC)—Cuba´s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez thanked the United Nations system represented in Cuba for its support in the aftermath of the tornado that affected several neighborhoods in the Cuban capital last January.
In a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator on the island, Consuelo Vidal-Bruce, Rodríguez also noted that the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States has a negative impact on the collaboration with offices, funds and programs of the United Nations.
A press release issued by the Foreign Ministry said that during the meeting, Rodriguez explained that this US policy affects the implementation on the island of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The release added that In a cordial atmosphere, the foreign minister and the Resident Coordinator exchanged about the good state of cooperation between the UN System and Cuba.
