Havana, July 4 (RHC)-- With the presence of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, the 43rd Ordinary General Assembly of the Central American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OCCEFS) opened at the Hotel Nacional in the Cuban capital.
The president greeted participants and ratified Cuba's commitment to regional integration, according to a note released on the Presidency's website.
Participating in the event are delegates from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic.
According to the Comptroller General of the Republic office, on the sidelines of the event a bilateral meeting was held between the Comptroller General of Cuba, Gladys M. Bejerano,and the President of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS) and Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru, Nelson Shack Yalta.
During the encounter, both officials followed up on the current cooperation agreement signed in 2018 between their offices, the results of which will strengthen the work carried out by these institutions in the area of government control, as well as the bonds of mutual collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
