Caracas, October 2, (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro today awarded the Francisco de Miranda Order of First Class and the Carabobo and Loyalty´s Victorious Sabre to Cuban Ambassador Rogelio Polanco.
At the Miraflores Palace, the president presented the recognition to the diplomat for his performance in this nation and as a symbol of brotherhood between the two nations.
Speaking at the ceremony, the ambassador thanked the Bolivarian Government for its gesture and reiterated that the island will always support Venezuela and its revolutionary process, and highlighted the historical ties that unite both countries.
For his part, Maduro highlighted the trajectory of Polanco, who began as leader of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, fulfilled important missions inside and outside his nation, and was director of the newspaper Juventud Rebelde until 2009, when he was appointed ambassador to Caracas.
