Havana, October 4 (RHC)-- Russian Prime Minister, Dimitri Medvedev, receives today an honorary doctorate in Political Science from the University of Havana.

After his arrival in Cuba on Thursday, Medvedev was welcomed in a solemn ceremony in the Palace of the Revolution by President Miguel Diaz-Canel, with whom he had conversations.
Both leaders expressed their satisfaction for the excellent status of bilateral relations, based on the historical ties of friendship between their peoples and governments, and ratified their will to work for their continued strengthening. They also presided over a signing ceremony of eight bilateral agreements on scientific-technical cooperation and customs activities.
The president of Cuba thanked Russia for its firm stance against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States almost six decades ago.
