Nairobi, December 8 (RHC)-- The Vice President of the Cuban Council of Ministers, Inés María Chapman Waugh, arrived in Kenya to represent the island at the 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Association of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (ACP).
The meeting will take place on December 9 and 10 in Nairobi.
The Cuban delegation includes the Director of Sub-Saharan Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gisela García Rivera; the Cuban Ambassador to Kenya, Ernesto Gómez Díaz, and the Deputy Director of International Economic Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodríguez, among other officials.
Ambassador Njambi Kinyungu, Permanent Representative of the Government of Kenya to UN-Habitat, welcomed Chapman Waugh at the airport.
The African, Caribbean, and Pacific Group of States (ACP) is an organization created by the Georgetown Agreement in 1975, and it has 79 member states.
The group's prime goal is the achievement of sustainable development of its Member-States and their gradual integration into the global economy, reducing poverty and working for the establishment of a new, fairer, and more equitable world order.
