Havana, April 20 (RHC)—Patients in Cuba who have tested positive to COVID are recovering steadily. With the last group of 30 that was discharged on Sunday, they have now reached 285, for a 26,2 % of the 1087 patients diagnosed as of Sunday.

Seven hundred forty-four patients hospitalized show a stable clinical evolution, nine are in critical, and eleven in serious condition.  Thirty-six people have died.

Dr. Francisco Duran, head of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health, said Monday the island has received aid from various countries through international organizations such as the PAHO/WHO,  UNICEF, UNDP, the Global Fund, and universities and institutions in Marseille, France.

The expert added that the existence of the pandemic in no way modifies the National Vaccination Program. However, he announced that the anti-polio and anti-flu vaccination drives scheduled for April and May would be postponed.
