Havana, May 19 (RHC)-- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, checked this Tuesday the development of a new prototype of a pulmonary ventilator for the intensive care rooms and the program for a vaccine, as part of the fight against COVID-19.
On a tour of the headquarters of the Electronics Group, based in Havana where the ventilator is produced, the president congratulated the team and stressed the importance of new technologies to revolutionize the care of seriously ill patients.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Ramiro Valdés commented on his Twitter account about the visit, saying that Cuban science and industry are responding to the country's needs with the creation of equipment and accessories.
Diaz-Canel also toured the Cuban Neuroscience Center, where prominent researchers explained to him the program to develop a specific vaccine against SARS-CoV2, according to the Cuban Presidency on Twitter.
The Cuban president spoke with scientists about the need to generate solutions to the pandemic.
