Havana, June 25 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez says that Cuba maintains its position of zero tolerance towards any manifestation of human trafficking.

On his official Twitter profile, the island's foreign minister reiterated that the policy of the Cuban Revolution rejects any manifestation of this international scourge, which costs the lives of thousands of people every year.

"Cuba exhibits an exemplary performance in the fight against human trafficking and maintains a policy of zero tolerance for trafficking in any form," Bruno Rodríguez tweeted.

On this issue, the U.S. government today again included the Caribbean nation on Level Three, its worst ranking, in its annual report on human trafficking, launching attacks against Cuban medical missions and using them as an argument to keep Cuba on that list of countries that fail to comply with the minimum standards for eliminating human trafficking.

Together with the island, 18 other countries appear on this part of the unilateral list, against many of which Washington maintains a policy of continuous hostility, such as China, Iran, Nicaragua, Venezuela, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Russia and Syria, reports Prensa Latina.

The report claims that the Cuban government does not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking and is not making significant efforts to do so, at a time when the Trump administration is stepping up its campaign against Cuban collaboration on health issues and threatening nations that accept such aid.
