Santa Clara, July 8 (RHC)-- The Cuban Minister of Education Ena Elsa Velázquez confirmed this Wednesday the preparations for the resumption of the school year in the central province of Villa Clara, according to the three stages of recovery imposed by the pandemic of the new coronavirus, which marks new ways of acting with the aim of preserving the health of students, teachers and communities of residence.

At a working meeting held at the Provincial Government headquarters, a group of measures were announced that will be applied in schools from September onwards, ranging from the reorganization of groups, the establishment of mixed centers, the reduction of student mobility and strict control of health and hygiene standards.

The island's education minister praised the state of knowledge and preparation of the staff that will face the next school term, which she witnessed in a tour of four municipalities of Villa Clara, including Sagua la Grande, in terms of avoiding overcrowding in the premises, keeping the investigation active at the entrance of the schools and ensuring hand washing and surface disinfection.

During the meeting, Lien O'Farril Mons, director of education in the region, said that the teacher coverage is 96 percent and that the school year will be supported by third and fourth year students from the Pedagogical School as well as the University Contingent which is the protagonist of the task Educating for Love.

O'Farril Mons exemplified how, in the case of La Panchita in Corralillo, the decision was made to create a mixed school, since there is a basic secondary school enrolment to integrate the primary school, which avoids the movement of students on public transport and minimises the risk of possible contagion.
