Havana, July 17 (RHC)-- A group of Cuban children recovered from COVID-19 met in Havana to celebrate that they all overcame the disease.

The meeting, held at the Finca de los Monos Technology Park, was an initiative of the Ministry of Public Health, where the children met with psychologists and doctors who verified the good health of the young people, reports the Cubadebate website.

At the meeting, where Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology, was present, the children also shared with a group of artists from the island, including singer-songwriter Liuba María Hevia and actor Osvaldo Doimeadiós.

Cuban health authorities reported today that over the past several few hours no children have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country, where so far 277 have been affected by the disease and 268 have been released.

At the daily press conference to update the data on the epidemiological situation in this country, Dr. Durán reiterated that so far all the minors are evolving satisfactorily and without complications.

On Sunday, July 19th, Children's Day will be celebrated on the island without big parties, but with recreational activities in all the municipalities, in strict compliance with the hygienic-sanitary measures, assured the president of the Organization of Pioneers José Martí, Rosa María Ramírez, in declarations to the Cuban News Agency.
