Havana, September 4 (RHC)-- The National Chief of Epidemiology, Francisco Duran, said 52 new COVID-19 cases were diagnosed in Cuba over the last 24 hours.

Speaking at the daily media briefing on Friday on the country's situation, Duran said that 5495 samples were studied.

With the newly diagnosed cases, 4266 people have already tested positive with SARS-COV-2 since the beginning of Cuba's epidemic.

The good news of the day was that of the total of identified patients, 24 had contracted the disease abroad, which might point to a reduction of autochthonous cases.
