Havana, November 18 (RHC) A meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) of Cuba analyzed Tuesday some of the new issues in the country's legislative agenda.

Participants examined the policy for the advancement of women, housing, the commercialization of agricultural products, and medications via videoconference, according to a report of local Television.

The head of the Parliament's Committee on Children, Youth and Equality and Women's Rights, Arelys Santana, reported on the recent verification carried out in each territory on recreation and attention to the infertile couple and prevention of gender violence.

Our contribution to the revision of the last legal norms that extend the benefits to the women in the workplace, daycare centers, and measures for their labor participation has been significant," assured Santana.

For its part, the head of the Committee on Economic Affairs stressed the need to strengthen control of the state budget.

It is essential to follow up on the country's economic and social strategy and, within it, each of the measures and policies approved, such as the improvement of the socialist state enterprise and the marketing of agricultural products," he said.
