Havana, May 30 (RHC) – Cuban President Raul Castro, First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, held talks on Thursday with the President of Chile’s Communist Party, Guillermo Teillier, who is paying a visit to the island.
Raul Castro and Guillermo Teillier addressed current relations between the two political organizations and they expressed their willingness to further strengthen such links. They also exchanged views on international and regional issues, according to Friday morning's edition Granma newspaper.
The Chilean political leader was accompanied the general secretary of Chile’s Communist Party, Juan Andres Lagos, and by the Party’s head of communications, Javiera Oliveira.
Also attending were the Second Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party Central Committee, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura; Cuba’s First Vice-president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and the head of the Party’s International Relations Department, Jose Ramon Balaguer.
