Havana, October 25 (RHC)-- The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Miguel Díaz-Canel, on Sunday called to fight with creativity in the face of the difficulties faced by the country and to maintain the spirit of resistance.
He made this statement in his closing address to the 2nd Plenary Session of the Party's Central Committee Secretariat, held at Havana's Convention Center in the presence of Army General Raúl Castro.
Diaz-Canel insisted on the importance of seeing each problem as an opportunity to make things better, a challenge to our ability to overcome difficulties, he said.
Likewise, he assured that there are enough revolutionaries to face any march that pretends to destroy the political system elected in a sovereign way on the island.
The decision of Cubans continues to be one of struggle and victory', remarked the head of state.
In his speech, Díaz-Canel spoke about the need to dialogue with the people, hear them, and find in those exchanges the inspiration to advance in the construction of socialism.
We have to 'become aware to overcome difficulties and fight for victory without blunders, with intelligence, respect, and defense of the Constitution, but also with energy,' he affirmed.
He warned those who seek to destroy Cuba's social project that 'they will have to face a people who will not be fooled, a brave and heroic people in sufficient numbers, and who are not afraid of threats.'
This weekend the members of the Central Committee evaluated the implementation of the agreements of the 8th Congress of the PCC, held last April 16-19.
Those present pointed out the need to improve the work styles, accentuate the exemplarity of the militancy, and strengthen the unity with the citizens in the face of attempts to subvert the order in the Caribbean country.
They discussed the upcoming consultation on the Family Code and its referendum and the municipal and national elections of the People's Power.
Likewise, the militants evaluated the political assurance to all the actors of the Cuban economy, with emphasis on strengthening the unity between the state and private sectors for the construction of a better country.
Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization and Cadre Policy of the PCC, presented the main report of the meeting, which the attendees approved.
In addition, they approved the amendments to the Party's Statutes, the program for the transformation of the ideological work, a general strategy for the cadres' policy in the period 2021-2026, and a proposal for the strengthening of the people's power in Cuba.
