Numerous governments, international authorities, and groups of friends of Cuba have sent messages on the occasion of 63 years since the triumph of the Revolution led by Fidel Castro on January 1, 1959.
In a message at the end of 2021, Diaz-Canel pointed out that 2021 was a year of losses and hard learnings, but also of victories, and called “to embark on the New Year’s path together, with optimism and joy.”
He affirmed that “each and everyone together can do better” and pointed out that “the great pending challenge is economic recovery, which will only be possible if we keep COVID-19 at bay and take advantage of everything that the country has transformed in search of efficiency.”
The president added, “There is no indication that the US blockade will end, and everything will depend on us and our strength. Let’s try again that it can be done! Let’s make the impossible possible!”
