Havana, June 17 (RHC)-- Cuban President began touring the island's power plants on Friday. His first stop was at the Antonio Maceo power plant in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.
In the plant, popular known as Rente, the Cuban head of state was informed that its staff is working hard to bring Unit 6 back to production on Saturday.
This should increase its generating power by 244 megawatts.
In a meeting with the executives of the Plant, Diaz-Canel that the return to the power grid of the Plant's Unit 6 is the first action of the planned strategy for the system's recovery.
He urged the plant's workers to work for a successful launch.
"We must start with victory because victories will lead to other victories."
