Cuba's Foreign Minister's visit to Ethiopia fruitful

of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen.

Addis Ababa, June 29 (RHC)-- Cuba's ambassador to Ethiopia, Jorge Lefebre, described as fruitful the brief stay in Ethiopia of his country's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, who left today for the Tanzanian capital.

Coming from Uganda, in Addis Rodriguez Parrilla had an exchange with the Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen, and with doctors from the brigade of the Caribbean state who work at the San Pablo Hospital.

The foreign ministers discussed political and social issues of bilateral interest, in addition to exchanging opinions regarding the possibilities of increasing and diversifying cooperation in several sectors.

"They also highlighted the solidity of the current relations between the two countries and expressed the intentions of the respective governments to work immediately to lead them to a higher level," the Cuban ambassador assured.

During the contact with Cuban specialists and electromedical specialists, the Minister outlined the objectives and transcendences of the working tour that began in Vienna, Austria, where he participated in the Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

After the days in the Austrian territory, the Caribbean archipelago's foreign Minister paid official visits to Equatorial Guinea and Uganda.

Rodriguez Parrilla will remain for two days in Tanzania and will conclude the tour in Nairobi, Kenya, where he will continue the governmental efforts to free Landy Rodriguez and Assel Herrera, Cuban doctors kidnapped on the border of that territory with Somalia.
