Havana, July 31 (RHC)-- Cuba's ambassador to Kingston, Fermín Quiñones, informed on Sunday of the Jamaican government's recognition of the island for its medical cooperation support during the Covid-19 confrontation.

Through his Twitter account, the diplomat thanked the Minister of Health and Welfare of that Caribbean nation, Chris Tufton, for the gesture.

During the fight against the pandemic, more than 500 Cuban health collaborators provided services in public medical centers in Jamaica.

In 1976, the first specialists from Cuba arrived in that nation, and since then, solidarity has been increased and maintained to improve the health indexes of the Jamaican people.
