Havana, Sep 20 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his solidarity with the people and government of Mexico after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that shook that sister country on Monday.

From his Twitter account, the Cuban dignitary expressed his condolences to the relatives of the citizen who died as a result of the earthquake.

According to the Mexican National Seismological Service, the epicenter of the tremor was located 59 kilometers south of Coalcomán, in the state of Michoacán, at a depth of 10 kilometers, and shook Mexico City and at least 11 other localities in the center-west.

This telluric movement was registered on a date that marks two of the worst earthquakes in the northern nation, in 1985 and 2017.

In a video posted on his social media account, Mexico's president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, specified that information is currently being gathered. "We wish with all our heart that nothing serious has happened," he said. (Source: PL)
